  • MUTEK.SF will return for its second US edition May 2nd to 5th. The global festival of music and technology has revealed its first bookings for 2019 in San Francisco. Kode9 will play a set inspired by Japanese video game music, with visuals by top Japanese animator Koji Morimoto. Dopplereffekt and Arpanet, both projects of Drexciya's Gerald Donald, are booked to play live. Amnesia Scanner will make their San Francisco debut. Other bookings include GAIKA, Byetone, Halal & Relaxer, The Hacker, Ectomorph, Steve Hauschildt, Smerz, Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, Tayhana and Veronica Vasicka. The strong Bay Area contingent includes Bleie & video artist Chelley Sherman, Dark Entries boss Josh Cheon playing back-to-back with Mozhgan, Lara Sarkissian (whose debut EP recently came out on Club Chai) and Oakland's Abandoned Footwear & arc. The four-day festival will take place at multiple venues across the Bay Area. More details about the program and additional artist announcements will be out soon.
