  • Global Underground are the pioneers of one of the most respected series of music compilations to hit music store shelves to date. Unless you're new to RA, you'd know we have covered the many releases of the label featuring DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Tony De Vit, Danny Tenaglia, Dave Seaman, Darren Emerson, Deep Dish, Nick Warren and more. GU have also taken these DJs around the world to various exotic locations to set the stage for some solid mix compilations (and parties!). Cities featured include Tokyo, New York, London, Moscow, Amsterdam and far out places like Uruguay,Tel Aviv, Budapest, Reykjavik and our own Sydney and Melbourne. With a change in the music scene, GU tried new concepts with their off-shoot series including Seb Fontaine's "Prototype" and Steve Lawler's "Lights Out" series and sounds from Anthony Pappa, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg and more on both the "24:7" and "Nubreed" compilations. Recently the label took another step in releasing the artist album "Atlantic Breakers" by Pako and Frederik to high acclaim. Also the new single from Traffik and upcoming material from Phil K and Luke Chable have been signed, and due to be released later in the year with much anticipation. Now the news those in the far north have been waiting for, GU is coming to Cairns to launch the next instalment in the GU series, James Lavelle Romania 026! The party will be held at 1936, Reef Casino on Friday March 19th. It wil feature Melbourne DJ and Global Underground's Aussie connection Mark Nicholson, as well as local DJs Dan Zooth, Schmee-J and Gerry Mane from the Sinch crew, and Dan Marshall, Jeremy J and The Baron from Deep North. If you're in the region be sure to get there for this local and global celebration of music!
