  • NativeBorn in Libya and raised in Switzerland, Hisham Samawi is one of the hottest New York City based producers and DJs in current times. This is not just some random statement, take the facts; loads of top DJ’s including Burridge, Zabiela, Diggers, Sasha, Kleinenberg, and Tenaglia are supporting his productions, reviews from his sets are constantly held high with even the most hardcore of music-junkies, and he is down with the NYC industry and trying to keep a style as fresh as any other comments by sayings "I don't really know what to call my sound. I just play records that move me and let others worry about what it is called. In my opinion, a good DJ makes everyone leave the club thinking he played a different sound.". It’s easy to see that Hisham will continue to rise amongst the NYC ranks as his tour schedule increases and to help push is as at the front of new record label Native Theory. The first release featuring two of Hisham’s tracks, 'Holding On' and 'Sprials', could not have a more solid backing as both are slated for James Zabiela’s upcoming 'Renaissance: Alive' compilation (which you will be hearing more about on RA next week). Native already has a handful of tracks lined up for the rest of this year and together with Samawi’s production partner Dennis Rogers (of the 112 Crew, one of Bill Patrick’s good buddies) and have recently launched the labels website. The first release is set to be distributed in July and you can listen to it here. Full information about the label below.
