  • Jazz CafeMean Fiddler, known primarily for organising huge events like Homeland (next weekend) and Glastonbury have announced two new annual events they are aiming to establish as niche landmarks in the British summer music calendar. The events to run under the Jazz Café Picnic name are to be located at two of London's most prestigious stately homes. The first at Kenwood House up in Hampstead Heath in July while the second, a month later will be at the Marble Hill House on the Thames in Twickenham! The Kenwood House event is to feature a more R&B, soul and hip-hop sounds while at Marble Hill the sounds will be a range of electro, house and urban jazzy beats with Zero7, Nitin Sawhney and Gilles Peterson. Rob Hallett, Director Head of Music at Mean Fiddle said "these are very different events, reflecting just two of the many and varied musical sty les regularly presented at the Jazz Café in Camden." Details for the two nights are as follows;
    Kenwood House - Sunday 11th July Lineup: R&B phenomenon Joe, soul brother Anthony Hamilton, Amp Fiddler, nu-soul artist Dwele, hip hop MC and DJ collaborative Blackalicious and West coast soul, singer Goapele. Tickets: £30 (Grass) and £35-£40 (for Reserved Deckchairs) Marble Hill House - Sunday 15th August Lineup: Zero 7, Indian-influenced urban beats of Nitin Sawhney, Gilles Peterson, Matthew Herbert Big Band, singer Willis and Two Banks of Four. Tickets: £32.50
    These Sunday day events start at 2:00pm and will obviously make a fantastic way to finish off your always-to-short weekends outdoors, weather permitting. Tickets went on sale last week from 0870 602 1101 and or at meanfiddler.com.
