  • Technics DZ1200Long standing and dominating leader in the Turntable world, requested by nearly all the leading DJs around the world, Technics, have been forced to take their brand to the next level. And they have not got an easy ride... Pioneer, took over the CD turntable market (and much deservedly) with their CDJ1000's, and have new technology like their DVJX1's (which Zabiela was raving about in his interview with RA) a DVD mixing device, and are working very hard to defend their position. The natural evolution they went through to bring their CDJ1000's up to scratch ensured their success and it has been soaked up by the industry over the past few years. So Technics couldn’t launch a CD Mixer without some special features and some rather incredible innovations. The Technics SL-DZ1200 is the result. The world’s first Direct-Drive Digital Turntable. And not only does it look like a normal spinning turntable (with its 10" platter) it also feels like spinning (and scratching) vinyl on the classic 1200's. The DZ1200's allow you to play CD's can also play MP3 and AAC, direct from SD Card. It features built in Cue Bank/Pads, Sample controls, BPM Display, Pitch Lock, Forward & Reverse playback and the all important vibration resistant design. The main setback (mainly for all you bedroom DJs) is that this incredible looking piece of equipment has a recommended retail price in the US for $1,199.95. More details, full features and loads of new shots of the digital turntable are available on the Technics Consumer site here.
