  • In a year that has seen a resurgence in the progressive sound, the breaks movement continuing to gather speed, Hip-Hop’s global appeal showing no sign of slowing down and an increase in ‘dance’ records hitting the commercial airwaves, it is now time to reveal DJ Mags Top DJs. Take the results with a pinch of salt, be aware that it is voted on by the public (over 90,000 voted were received). But the very nature of DJing is creating an environment whereby people can enjoy themselves and enjoy quality music – no matter what profession you are in - if you can do this well you will become popular. The world number one DJ for this year, sees Trance once again crowned the most popular sound with Dutch progressive-trance DJ, Tiesto crowned the worlds number 1 DJ for his third year running. By performing at the Olympic opening ceremony and huge gigs in Central park and 45,000 sell outs in Holland it comes as no surprise to see him once again at the top of the popularity pile. Joining him on the leading trance tip are PVD and Armin Van Buuren in second and third respectively. The top 20 takes shape as below with some huge surprises and in bad news for those at the awards Tiesto pulled out at 6pm and thus was unable to accept his award infront of many London fans.
