- There's only more week to go before the 2005 incarnation of Detroit's Electronic Movement Festival kicks off.
Fuse-in, Detroit's biggest electronic music festival which earlier this year looked like it would not go ahead, will take place next weekend Saturday May28th to Monday May30th at Detroit's Hart Plaza on Jefferson Avenue.
Formerly known as the Detroit Electronic Movement Festival and Movement under the direction of previous organiser Derrick May this year's festival, now called Fuse-in, has come together under the hands of techno DJ, producer and godfather Kevin Saunderson, who has achieved the impossible and put together the festival in just a few short months after the Detroit City Council were slow to grant approval to the event.
The 3-day festival will feature over 120 prominent electronica and techno DJs and live performances spread over four stages including John Tejada, Richie Hawtin, Green Velvet, Bryan Zentz, Mistress Barbara, Christian Smith, Michel de Hey, Alexander Robotnick, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Daniel Bell, Apparat, Luciano, Octave One, Ken Ishii, Deetron, Carl Craig and of course festival organiser Kevin Saunderson. The event will also feature a live performance from hip hop act MOS-DEF.
For the first time, this year the Detroit City Council has granted the festival's organisers permission to charge an admission fee of $25 for a weekend pass and $10 for a single day ticket.
