  • In the past two years, late November and early December have become big months on Tokyo's clubbing calendar with the annual Electraglide Festival usually scheduled around this time and big guns John Digweed and Carl Cox making their yearly pilgrimage to the Far East. This year looks like being equally large with Sasha's Fundacion night, which is set to take up residency at Tokyo's club Womb for the entire month of November, meaning Tokyo's clubbing high season will be kicking off a little earlier than usual. The month-long weekly residency is a concept Japanese clubs like Womb and ageHa have previously done in the past, inviting over big name techno stalwarts like Jeff Mills, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson to play weekly gigs (each usually with a slight twist on genre or additional international guest DJ) on the Friday or Saturday. Last year Womb hosted the month-long Time Sensitive residency with Jeff Mills, which saw him play at the club for four consecutive weeks and included additional mid-week dates at intimate DJ bars like Seco Bar, where fans were able to get up close and very personal with their DJ hero. Exact details of Sasha's Fundacion residency are still tightly under wraps but if the past residencies and November line-ups are any indication of what to expect, it's going to be a big month for Womb and Tokyo.
