  • The boundaries between electronic music and gaming have long since merged to great effect. Producers from around the world have contributed soundscapes to combine with the visual aspect of gaming to add to the experience. In a slight twist it has been announced at the recent Nintendo press conference that New York DJ David Hollands has used the Nintendo DS Electroplankton ‘game’ to create a track in its entirety. Electroplankton allows the gamer to create rhythms and sounds with the touch screen. Interacting with the touch screen makes the virtual ‘soundfish’ move about in different ways or form, creating a unique sound experience. At the press conference Holland’s himself came out and created a track live on his DS while on the large screens in-front of journalists displayed his screens, showing his moves and interactions as he built the track. You can see an interview with David Holland as he discusses creating a track on the Nintendo DS.
