  • Production company 9 Lives have faced a continual battle with some outspoken local residents about a number of events they are involved in at Clapham common. Since 1999 9 Lives have worked on Urban Games, Latin Splash, Lovebox, B-Live, South West Four, Get Loaded and the recent Metro Weekender, but over that period a few people have deemed the events unsuitable for the wide open green space that is the common and have made the effort to contact the local Lambeth council. In 2005, this resulted in events having to close earlier and sound level restrictions that many feel are too tight. Most people that enjoy the events staged on the common show their application by attending, however something more needs to be done to give the local council a balanced view of opinion. 9 Lives are calling on those in favour of Common events to e-mail [email protected], stating that you believe Commons should be used selectively to stage events and concerts. If you have attended any events on Clapham, please take the time to write to them and express your views on whether events should be held on Clapham. Please also add your postal address (street name and post code is sufficient) which will prove that you are a Lambeth resident and that your views are as relevant as those of the serial complainers 9 Lives will forward these to the council and hopefully events will be staged on the Common for years to come.
