  • One of the favourite clubbing nights for the year is fast approaching. Spend it drum'n'bass style with DJ/producer Mampi Swift on 3 decks and his sidekick MC IC3 on mic duties.

  • The options for partying on Melbourne Cup eve on Monday 31 October are many and varied, but if John Digweed is not your cup of tea then perhaps Mampi Swift and MC IC3 with a Funktion 1 sound system is. The occassion will be made even more unique with Mampi Swift playing on 3 decks, a feat yet to be done by any DnB DJ that has come out to Australia! Mampi Swift is Phil Anim, aka Swift. The addition of "Mampi" to his name not being coincidental; the term meaning "big, strong and quick" depicts everything about him from his pure pyhsique to his amazing "double-dropping" djing skills. A multi-skilled musician, Mampi Swift is both DJ, producer and head of Charge Recordings. His releases include "Twisted" followed by "Feel Good" in 1997 which were both massive hits in the UK and rapidly spread worldwide. It was his third release that earned him recognized fame throughout the world with "The One". Swift describes his style as "plain rolling" - the catchy beats being a key element to his overall sound, it's the unique distorted basslines that people notice. The visit to Melbourne will be Mampi Swift's first time here, and part of his worldwide tour. Accompanying him, will be no other than Mampi's partner in crime, the versatile MC IC3 guaranteeing a high energy extravanganza from the " awesome twosome!!
