  • This weekend sees Audiotherapy head, and new dad, Dave Seaman return to the United States for a coast to coast mini tour with stops at Spirit in New York on Friday, December 9, and Los Angeles' Avalon on Saturday, December 10. This pre-holiday tour comes in support of his newest release compilation, 'This is Audiotherapy'. Dave has always searched the globe in a quest to find new producers and acquire cutting edge tracks before anyone else. This release reflects well on what his hard work and determination has unearthed over the years. The two discs, one mixed and one single tracks, provide a good representation of what the independent label stands for. It also provides some previously unreleased remixes by the likes of Tonedepth & Stel, Trafik, Oliver Moldan and Steve Porter. In order to stay afloat Dave is trying to be as forward thinking as possible regarding how to operate the label and sees an unmixed disc as a way to please those who operate predominantly through digital music:
“Vinyl sales as a whole have been dropping over the past 12 months and we as a label have to be aware of where the market is moving. The digital format has evolved very quickly and it would seem that less and less people are buying the vinyl format. But, I still think that people like to hold and see a product at the end of the day as opposed to a computer file. The unmixed CD will satisfy the demand out there for Audio Therapy fans and will hopefully bridge the gap for people moving away from vinyl but still wanting an end product. The format worked well and was warmly received for the Across Borders CD re lease we did last month and as with that release we will also be doing a limited edition 2 x 12” vinyl run.”
So if you are in the New York or Los Angeles area this weekend, take some time off from holiday shopping and cut the rug to Dave's worldy grooves.
