It's a clash of techno and club heavyweights this Saturday in Tokyo as MB Elektronics' Marco Bailey, headlining the Clash 11 vs Moonage event at ageHa, goes up against Cocoon android, Sven Vath on his "The Sound Of The Sixth Season" tour at Womb.
Both artists released double-CD mix compilations in November 2005 with Sven Vath compiling his sixth retrospective snapshot of his Cocoon Amnesia residency on "The Sound Of The Sixth Season", and Marco Bailey illustrating his sound has matured a little more beyond the frenzied loop-driven techno normally associated with the Belgian scene on his "Positive Disorder" release.
Will Sven be swayed by the Womb superclub crowd and go all tech trance or opt for an electro wobbly? Will Marco attempt to pull off a more minimal set (as heard on CD1 of Positive Disorder) or go the upfront banging route in the Arena at Shin Kiba? Those still sitting on the fence about which gig to go to should check out what RA's reviewers thought of both releases.
We threw both mixes over to our most ardent of Sven Vath and Marco Bailey fans with mixed results.
