  • Brother sister dance/electro/pop act, The Knife have released their third album 'Silent Shout'. The Knife are the Scandinavian pairing of Karin Dreijer and Olof Dreijer, who hail from Stockholm, Sweden. Formed nearly eight years ago, on their third album 'Silent Shout', the pair return with a new look and a healthy dose of twisted synth pop. The album is their first full length release since 2004's 'Deep Cuts'. The Knife certainly have a sound and they most definitely have a look. All the press coverage of the pair depict two artists wearing black pointy-nosed masquerade ball masks, suggesting a rather grotesque involvement with the dark side. The sound and look do slightly support each other, in aid of a kind of over analysis of art meets death disco. Karin Dreijer has been quoted as saying, "Silent Shout – it's like when you dream and really want to scream something, nothing comes out" and again on this album, she brings her angst, subdued, distorted, and jaded ghostly vocal and songwriting. The first single off the album ‘Silent Shout’ has already seen remixes pressed on vinyl, namely by Troy Pierce and Holland's Shinedoe, with the next single from the album due to be 'Marble House'. 'Silent Shout' by The Knife is out now on Rabid Records in Sweden and through Brille in the UK.
