  • Some of you may remember a London band Simian from a few years back, known for a couple of brilliant records, thought the lost sight of their goals and went their separate ways. Following the demise of the band in 2002, two of the bands members - James Ford and Jas Shaw - took hold of their avid interest in DJing and started a DJ sideshow called Simian Mobile Disco. The duo continued DJing and got their creative hands at remixing and producing tracks turning to a more open and almost dancefloor orientated style. This weekend, timed well with the forthcoming debut album from Simian Mobile Disco on the Modular Record Label, Modular Monthly have striped the boys from their local East London hang so they can kick it at Honky Tonks in Melbourne on Friday and The Basement in Sydney Saturday. They will be spinning a sound that encompasses their hip house, electro pop, turkish trance and electric light orchestra sounds (of course). Full Event Details on each of the events here... April 28, Friday: Melbourne, Modular Monthly - Simian Mobile Disco April 29, Saturday: Sydney, Modular Monthly - Simian Mobile Disco ...get your rave on.
