  • Buick Project, house producers Nic Fanciulli and Andy Chatterley, will perform live for the first time at the next ClubClass night at Ministry of Sound. Fanciulli and Chatterley first started messing about in the studio six years ago. After a year off working on individual projects, the pair got back together in late 2003, the first fruits of which was a remix of 4Tune500's 'Dancing in the Dark'. Originally dubbing themselves Skylark (after a San Francisco bar where Fanciulli was inspirated by a set from Halo and Hipp-E), their remixes of the Tears for Fears classic 'Shout' and Deep Dish's 'Flashdance' pricked up ears. These days they release material as both Skylark and the Buick Project. In case you were wondering, Skylark was the name of a Buick model in the sixties (thanks Wikipedia). Known for churning out funky acid and retro house but equally at home with more electrohouse or even progressive ('Lumiere') fare, the pair have twice found themselves on remix duties for Tiefschwarz in the last six months, tweaking 'Warning Siren' and 'Damage'. For their forthcoming debut live set, rumour has it the lads will be carting along everything but the kitchen sink: keyboards, laptops, CDJs and the analogue goodness of a Roland 303 and 909... yum! Fanciulli will also spin a regular DJ set joined by Paul Woolford and June 2006 RA interviewee Paolo Mojo, whose track 'Ruckus' the Buick Project recently reworked. On the night you can also catch breaks maestro Lee Coombs, Elite Force and a host of others spread across three rooms. Buick Project make their live debut at Club Class at Ministry of Sound on Saturday July 15th, 2006.
