  • French robot dance-rockers Daft Punk are returning to the US to play at the Bang Music Festival in Miami in November. Daft Punk are electronic duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The pair left US audiences gobsmacked after their live show at this year's Coachella Festival in Indio, California. It includes a three-tonne, 20-foot-high pyramid-cum-space-ship with Bangalter and de Homem-Christo sporting metallic finger gloves and futuristic robot helmets with LED effects. Earlier this year, the duo also premiered their first full length feature film 'Electroma', a psychedelic musical and visual odyssey about two robots and their quest to become human, at the Cannes Film Festival. Daft Punk will be joined at the Bang Music Festival by fifty bands and DJs spread over five stages including Roger Sanchez, Markus Schultz, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Hyper, Thievery Corporation, Tiesto, Misstress Barbara and even eighties British pop band Duran Duran. Bang Music Festival takes place in Miami's Bicentennial Park on Saturday, November 11th, 2006.
