Myspace branches out into webcasts this Saturday when Paul Oakenfold becomes the first DJ to spin live on the site. Oakey’s Miami gig will be available to stream in a webcast also featuring a set from Sandra Collins.
Oakenfold is one of the most popular DJs on the community website with over 800,000 views on his profile, most of whom will be crashing MySpace’s server to catch a video of his Miami gig. The webcast will be streaming from this MySpace page
The DJ-cum-Hollywood-mover-and-shaker will be joined by American trance DJ Sandra Collins from Oakey’s Perfecto label, who will perform her audio/visual show 'Interference' together with VJ Vello Virkhaus. The show involves the pair synchronising music and video across six screens using a bundle of DJ and video technology. You might not quite get the full effect on the video stream, but all the more reason to be there live we suppose.
