  • Armchair electronic Frenchmen air have unveiled a follow-up to 2004’s ‘Walkie Talkie’. ‘Pocket Symphony’ will be released in March next year. The twelve track album features guest vocals from Jarvis Cocker as well as Neil Hannon from The Divine Comedy. The album is produced by longtime Air collaborator Nigel Godrich, who also produced such acclaimed indietronica records ‘Kid A’ by Radiohead and Thom Yorke’s recent debut solo album ‘The Eraser’. Several tracks feature the koto and the shamisen, Japanese instruments which Air member Nicolas Godin has been studying. “It's another direction, for sure," Jean-Benoit Dunckel told Billboard magazine. "It's different, but it's Air. We like to change all the time. If we don't change our sound, we'll be dead. People who like our music like to discover new things. They're curious. They have some cultural musical background also, so they want to be surprised." The band are planning European dates for March and American dates in May next year. ‘Pocket Symphony’ tracklist 01.
