  • Mannheim's biggest festival just got even bigger. Sven Väth, Carl Craig and Ellen Allien are all confirmed to play the new eight-day TDK Time Warp Festival in March. Germany's TDK Time Warp Festival has been held each year in Mannheim since 1994. The festival has three streams, each represented by a colour: electronic music (blue), music management and production (red) and film and video arts (green). For dance fans, the blue programme is what it's all about and this year there's extra good news: since the city of Mannheim is celebrating its 400th anniversary, the festival has been extended from two to eight days. In addition to the main dance event at Maimarkt Halle, events will be held during the preceding week from Saturday, March 24th. French techno ambassador Laurent Garnier will perform his soundtrack to Jean Epstein's poetic docudrama 'Finis Terrae'; Château Flight will perform their score to the film 'Les Vampires' at the Planetarium Mannheim; Detroit techno legend Carl Craig will also spin alongside Tikiman from dub techno pioneers Rhythm & Sound and Monolake will also give an audio visual performance similar to their 'Atlantic Waves IV' piece presented at the Tate Modern in London last year. The festival's London spin-off TDK Cross Central will also host a night with Fujiya Miyagi and Mouse on Mars. The festival will finish on Saturday, March 31st with its flagship event - a nineteen hour ravetastic marathon of DJ and live sets from artists including Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, DJ Hell, Chris Liebing, James Holden, Ricardo Villalobos, Monika Kruse, DJ Koze, Turntablerocker, Ellen Allien, Steve Bug, Karotte, Loco Dice, Magda, Shinedoe, Raresh, Guy Gerber, Anthony Rother, Mathew Jonson, Extrawelt and Martin Buttrich. TDK Time Warp Festival takes place from Saturday, March 24 to Saturday, March 31, 2007 in Mannheim.
