  • New promo mixes from Phil Kieran, Simon Baker, live sets from Misc, and fifteen progressive sets to download this week.
Miscellaneous Misc: Sender Records bass-noise power duo Misc have had a quiet year on the release front, but live they’re still a force to be reckoned with. The evidence is contained in this live set @ Kiosk, Lille from January, and when you’re done with that, move onto this set recorded live @ Nightmoves in Chicago in June 2006. Deep, Down & Dirty: British up and comer Simon Baker [20:20 Vision, Infant, Deep, Down & Dirty] has a new promo mix out containing more than a few great tracks that might have slipped under your radar. Nicely mixed, nicely selected – file this man alongside Jamie Jones & Geddes as part of the new UK minimal house thing that’s threatening to burst at present. Tracklist in forum. [via bb.4four.org] 15 from 365: Dutch website 365Mag ran a competition last month of mix of the year from their Proton Radio show, which is usually only available as a stream for non-subscribers. The competition is already closed, but the website has kindly left up the candidates for download. Big names include Sander Kleinenberg, Nic Fanciulli, Desyn Masiello, Chris Fortier and Gabriel & Dresden but you can download all fifteen mixes here. Studio 88: Couldn’t get enough Bodzin this week? Club Studio 88 in Aix-en-Provence have streaming sets from many of the artists who drop by, including a Bodzin vs. Romboy set from two weeks ago. Their mixes section runs pretty deep: There’s also recent South of France sets up by Guy Gerber, Tiefschwarz, Boys Noize, Claude Von Stroke and Thomas Schumacher to name a few. Sets are also available for download (at shockingly low quality). Belfast Boy: With two twelves already under his belt since Christmas, 2007 looks like it’s going to be another bumper year for studio workhorse Phil Kieran. On the DJ side of things, Phil has just recorded a new promo mix and the result is kinda like his productions: techno, electro and minimal with bounce and pulse. Check it out.
Radioactivity: let's have sets on the web.
