Lawrence’s Japan-only ‘best of’ from 2006 'Lowlights from the Past and the Future' gets a worldwide release next month.
Lawrence is the nom de plume of Hamburg’s Peter Kersten, owner of Dial Records, Smallville record store and maker of minimal house with a particular combination of emotional melodies and dancefloor beats all of its own.
‘The past’ portion of the comp is represented by Lawrence remixes of Superpitcher, Egoexpress, Antonelli and Turner as well as the tracks ‘Spark’ from 2004, ‘Swap’ from his album ‘This Night Will Last Forever’ (2005) and ‘If You Can’t Understand’ from ‘Absence of Blight’ (2003). 'The future’ is represented by the 2007 Japan-only single ‘Friday’s Child’ and the new tracks ‘Untitled’, ‘Lowlights from the Past’ and ‘Further’. Just the ticket for Lawrence completists, those unable to pay for expensive Japanese imports or just those wanting a ‘best of’ entry point into the music.
Watch out also for the 12" from the album out soon on Mule Electronic, which includes a Losoul remix of 'Further'.
