NRK turn to German deep house duo Âme for the next edition of their 'Coast2Coast' compilation series. The double CD arrives in May.
Âme follows in the footsteps of previous 'Coast2Coast' picks Ron Trent, Quentin Harris and Kerri Chandler. Like past editions, the 2CD compilation comes as one mixed disc and a second unmixed CD, this time containing eleven of the fourteen tracks from disc one. Âme's mix includes Carl Craig's remix of Rhythm & Sound's 'Poor People Must Work', jazzy deep house from Chateau Flight, Âme's own remix of Ferrer & Sydenham Afro-house classic 'Timbuktu' plus cuts and remixes by Losoul, Charles Webster and Stefan Goldmann.
Since the meteoric success of 'Rej', released on Sonar Kollektiv in late 2005 and subsequently licenced to UK house major Defected, Âme have been carving out a rated name as remixers turning in big rerubs of Rodamaal, Akabu and Ferrer & Sydenham. Together with Dixon, they also co-run the Innervisions label, which will host a showcase at this year's Sonar Festival in Barcelona with Âme's Frank Wiedemann, Chateau Flight and Dixon in attendance.
