Temporary lightshow/club Kubik makes its way south from Berlin this summer. Probability of having your head done in: very high.
The concept was dreamed up by German company Balestra Berlin: take dozens of 1000 litre tanks, fill them with illuminated liquid, and arrange them into a temporary club space. And the whole thing is wired up so that VJs can synch the walls up to the music. Hard to describe really, so best to check out these videos for a taste of Kubik in action: ping pong drum n bass or the real thing. Cool concept.
Kubik kicked off in Berlin last year, and this year the Lisbon and Barcelona branches of Kubik are open until September. Both Iberian Kubiks are open every night with lots of local DJs booked to spin, but Barcelona Kompakt fans especially might want to head down to Superpitcher this Sunday night. Let there be light!
