  • One hundred and forty parties later, the Robots are pulling the plug on their monthly Thursday party in New York. The Robots night put on by humans Nick AC, Bill Patrick and Dennis Rodgers started out as a weekly at Cafe Deville back in 2003. Since then the trio have hosted big names (Sven Vath, Michael Mayer, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Luciano, Tiefschwarz, Trentemoller) in European house and techno, and little ones too (Dandy Jack, Dinky, Paul Kalkbrenner), often catching them on the first or final legs of their North America tours. The Robots have also laid to waste crowds in Miami at their annual Winter Music Conference at B.E.D as well as ruled the airwaves of East Village Radio. The final Robots party happens tonight at Gotham City's light box Cielo. No-nonsense technoist Chris Liebing headlines alongside Dutch techno ambassador and RA podcast fave Joris Voorn. No word yet on whether there will be a brief Robots uprising at next year's WMC but if you're in the city that never sleeps, best get along.
