Turnmills monthly Together celebrates two years of rock'n'rave this weekend.
Back in early 2005, hard dance den and Judge Jules home Turnmills might have seemed an unlikely stop-off for the likes of hipsters such as New Young Pony Club, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco, but in the last two years monthly night Together has managed to make it just that. Its triple-pronged bill of indie, disco, electro and techno has hosted top acts from Modular and DFA as well as more straight up house and techno from the likes of Gabriel Ananda and Green Velvet.
Birthday number two looks like being no different. Together hall-of-famers Joe Hot Chip and Fischerspooner—listen out for their comeback single on Kitsune—spin the accessible end of electro and disco in room one alongside in-yer-face breaks chameleons Evil Nine. Meanwhile, record obsessives will be gathering under the stairs as electrohouse (Rex the Dog) and fidget house (Trevor Loveys) square off in room two.
The first five hundred peeps through the door also get a goodie bag stuffed with free muzik from artists on the night. It might also come in handy if you over-indulge in the free jelly and icecream.
