  • Monika Kruse changes perceptions image
  • Terminal M and Electric Avenue head Monika Kruse will release her debut album, Changes of Perception, in September. Following in the path of Marc Romboy, Ellen Allien, and others, Kruse elected to forge her identity via another producer. For her first outing, Kruse chose RA podcast vet Gregor Tresher. Kruse, who is perhaps best known as a DJ, enlisted Tresher to help her "explore new ways with this album and break through existing musical structures. Over the years my name stood for a music category in which I felt more and more restricted—as an artist as well as a person." The results are varied to say the least, with the Detroit-stylings of "Wackypaky" and the no-nonsense acid of the provocatively titled "Spank Me Later" leading the way. Overall, though, the vibe is warm and inviting, much like Kruse's personality. Tracklisting 01. Alo 02. Don't Come Close 03. Changes of Perception 04. Hope 05. Fragile 06. When I Woke Up 07. Wackypaky 08. Morgana 09. Spank Me Later 10. So Hum Monika Kruse will release Changes of Perception on her Terminal M imprint on September 5, 2008.
