  • Claro Intelecto's Warehouse Sessions series will be compiled onto a single CD for release later this month. Mark Stewart, the man behind the Intelecto, released five separate 12-inches over the past two years under the Warehouse Sessions tag, all of which focused on his more dance floor-oriented work. From the cavernous slo-mo workout of "New Dawn" to the metallic dubbiness of "Hunt You Down", they've already become classics in many a techno fan's collection. If you thought that the deep atmospherics of last year's Metanarrative full-length was too soft for your tastes, then it's likely that this release will be much more up your street. But even if you're a hardcore Claro fan and already own the series on vinyl, there are a couple of extra incentives to pick up the CD release" Firstly, all of the tracks have been expertly remastered at Berlin's Dubplates & Mastering studio, and there's also an exclusive track included in the form of "W6." We spoke to Mark via e-mail to ask him a few questions about the series:
Does this compilation spell the end of your Warehouse Sessions series, or do you think you'll revisit it at some point? Yes, this spells the end of the Warehouse Sessions. Our intention was always to draw a line under the series with volume 5, but never say never. Do you have any particular favourites out of the Warehouse Sessions tracks? Personally I like "Post," "W6" and "New Dawn." I only revisited the series when the CD was manufactured and I had a completely different perspective on it hearing it for the first time in a long while. Those are my current faves. The compilation is sequenced chronologically, but were you tempted to sequence it differently to create a more cohesive body of work? We left the sequence in chronological order as the tracks span almost four years and it seemed to make most sense to have them programmed that way. We actually always had in mind how the tracks would work in a certain sequence on one CD, so it was a consideration in the way the 12-inches were compiled in the first place. What can we expect from your new Claro Intelecto material later this year? Lots of new music. I'm in the process of writing as we speak, there are almost-compiled releases in the works, and some other projects that are brewing up nicely...
