  • Boston afterhours institution Rise will continue its month-long celebration of ten years in the business when it welcomes Steve Porter and Peter Rauhofer later this week. The duo will be performing on successive nights, capping off a busy month of events for the venue. Throughout January, Rise has brought in some of its favorite acts to mark its decade-long run, including Martijn Ten Velden, Tony Moran and more. Over the years, Rise has seen afterhours performances from DJ elite such as Danny Howells, Josh Wink and Carl Craig, marking the first time that many Bostonians had a chance to see such a thing in their city. As a result, it's been one of the few reliable venues in a city often noted for its devotion to rock and indie. With a lineup that extends far into 2009, expect Rise to continue to bring afterhours fun to the city throughout its 10th year.
