  • Attendees of this year's Sonar in Barcelona will be treated to the opening of the new Kanna Beach Club. The open air space is situated right in front of the beach in Sant Adria, and boasts a Funktion One soundsystem that should make even the most hardened of audiophiles weep with joy. For next month's festivities, they've roped in a host of labels to showcase some of their biggest acts, with Drumcode, Cadenza, Desolat, Bugged Out! and Cocoon all taking part. Things kick off on the Wednesday night with tough techno courtesy of Adam Beyer's Drumcode label, where he'll be joined behind the decks by Chris Liebing and Ida Engberg. French producer Paul Ritch will also bring his big room sound to the beach with one of his live sets, whilst the following day sees Cadenza and Desolat team up for the second year in a row, with sets from Luciano, Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich and Mirko Loko. Revellers looking for more maximal sounds should check out Felix Da Housecat at the Bugged Out! party on Friday night, whilst the Saturday and Sunday are taken up by Sven Vath and his Cocoon crew. Vath himself will play the first of the parties alongside a live performance from Israeli tech-houser Guy Gerber, whilst the closing party is almost guaranteed to be an absolute roadblock. Panorama Bar resident Cassy will being her smooth minimal house grooves to Kanna Beach, with none other than Ricardo Villalobos taking to the controls to close out the weekend.
