  • Two of London's finest bass-booming crews are set to team up for a one-off collaboration at Cable next Friday. The main room will be overseen by Sin City, which is the brainchild of Croydon lads Hatcha and N-Type. Through his position behind the counter at the now defunct Big Apple record shop, Hatcha was able to encourage the growth of the area's then young dubstep scene, but now his passions are channeled into his and N-Type's Sin City project, which has recently developed into a full-blown record label. After parties at Bar Rumba and Herbal, this event will be their biggest to date, although they're still keeping things on a resolutely London tip. Both Mala and Coki will be present to showcase the two polar opposites of the Digital Mystikz sound, with Walsh and Chef providing back up with their dancefloor-oriented styles. Deep Medi Musik signings Quest and Silkie will be there to provide the deep counterpoint to the more wobble-happy antics of The Others, but the night isn't just about dubstep. Medium's parties at Plastic People have been successfully fusing drum'n'bass, techno and dubstep sounds for over two years now, and they'll be blurring the edges yet again with another multi-faceted bill. Forward thinking drum'n'bass is the order of the day from headliner Instra:mental, whilst Fierce will take things back to the mid-90's with his slick rolling style. Jamie Vex'd will be unveiling his new "wonky" sound, and one of the coups of the night will be an appearance from dark garage pioneer El-B, who will be taking the tempo down a little with a set of classic garage anthems. Those looking to sample a bit of techno/dubstep on a big rig will also be catered for, with Medium resident Sigha and Hessle Audio's Pangaea and Ben UFO mixing up the stepping rhythms with four-to-the-floor workouts.
