- The Cologne-based minimalist will release her debut full-length on Prologue later this year.
Cio D'Or is set to release her debut album on Prologue in October.
Cio Dorbandt started her musical career as a DJ in Munich, plying her trade in bars before she was spotted by Tobi Neumann, who immediately booked her for his Flokati party. More international performances soon followed, but it became clear to Cio that her real goal was to enter into the world of production. Her previous 12-inch singles have seen her collaborate with the likes of Gabriel Ananda and more recently Donato Dozzy, but she's now ready to go solo with her first full-length, entitled Die Faser.
As you'd expect from her previous work, most of the album consists of Cio's melodic minimal stylings, with deft but subtle touches of delay and reverb lending themselves to her trippy sound. The record is also peppered with three short beatless cuts ("Zellulose Wind," "Angora" and "Seide"), which help to break things up for listeners who will take the album in from start to finish. Prologue are still undecided whether to give Die Faser a full release on CD, but digital DJs will be able to obtain the album as a digital download through the usual Prologue stockists.
