  • Raz Ohara is set to make a return to the album format later this year. The singer/songwriter has been working on the full-length—entitled II—since last summer, travelling out to the countryside with guitarist Tom Krimi to write and record songs for the album. Those aware of Raz's previous LP for Get Physical will know not to expect the usual dance floor shenanigans associated with the imprint, with the focus firmly on pastoral folk-pop throughout. The general mood is less melancholic than on 2007's self-titled effort, though, and there are slightly more experimental tracks, such as the loopy psychedelic pop of "Losing My Name" and the reverse manipulation of "Kingdom." Raz was helped out in this capacity by long-term collaborator Oliver Doerell (AKA Dictaphone / Swod), who aided him by developing, re-arranging and finalising Ohara's personally recorded sample library. Tracklist 01. Fragment I 02. The Burning (Desire) 03. Losing My Name 04. Varsha 05. Wildbirds 06. Fragment II 07. The Day You Suffered Helpless Out Of Reach And All Lines Were Dead 08. Kingdom 09. Fragment III 10. Praise The Day (No One Owes You Nothing) Get Physical Music will release II on October 23rd, 2009.
