  • Heidi is set to launch her new party this Friday at Watergate. The Radio 1 presenter originally planned to coincide her radio show with a party in her current Berlin hometown, and after approaching Watergate, they gladly agreed to let her take over both floors for her inaugural shindig. It's called The Jackathon. And with a party name like that, boompty house legend Derrick Carter seems entirely suitable for the headlining job in hand. "He's one of the reasons I got into dance music," Heidi remarks. "I used to go and see him play all the time and he made me dance like a maniac." Jamie Jones and Lauhaus will also be present to showcase the new wave of stripped back house music that's catching Heidi's ear right now. "I've been playing tonnes of their productions on my show and I just thought it would be a great night of super fun jackin' house music all night long." Rounding off the line-up are Boston's sample-happy housers Soul Clap, who will be playing for just the second time in Berlin after they made their debut at Arenaclub earlier this month. But can we expect any more Jackathon installments in the future? "Hopefully the dance floor will be buzzing until the wee hours of the morning," asserts Heidi, "and if this goes well there will be many more nights like this to come."
