  • London's Plex party are set to celebrate their birthday on Friday October 30th at Corsica Studios. The promoters behind the night have been dedicated to bringing a wide variety of electronic music under one roof in the capital for three years now, with previous line-ups taking in techno, electro, drum'n'bass, dubstep and that's just the start of it. This year they'll be marking the occasion with a typically diverse selection of acts, with a little bit of help from the guys at Berlin's Hard Wax record shop and the Combat Recordings record label. As is to be expected Hard Wax will be bringing over quite the array of underground techno artists for the event, which will see DJ Pete and René Löwe take the headlining spot with one of their Scion Versions sets. Together they were responsible for the first release on Basic Channel's sister label, Chain Reaction, and they'll be playing a special live set consisting of driving but dubby techno on the evening. Löwe (who also produces solo as Vainqueur) and Berghain resident Norman Nodge will also take to the decks on his own, while tough techno upstarts Ancient Methods will make their London debut with a live show. If you thought that Ancient Methods' releases were scary, then Mick Harris may have a thing or two to show you over in Combat's room. Mick will be one of three acts playing live for Combat, with Elemental set to lay down their speaker-bothering dubstep before Point B hits the stage with his glitchy electro. Tickets to the Plex birthday are now available to purchase directly from RA Tickets.
