  • Prins Thomas is set to debut in Australia, playing 2010's Playground Weekender festival in February. For the first time in its three-year history, the festival will stretch out to four days. The annual long weekend event, which takes place one-and-half hours out of Sydney at Del Rio Resort in Wiseman's Ferry, has become one of New South Wales' most revered bush festivals. Somewhat boutique in nature with only 12,000 tickets available—small by Australian standards—Playground Weekender is an event that, to exercise the well-worn phrase, can't be pigeonholed by genre. Previous years have played host to the likes of Ewan Pearson, Steve Bug and Nic Fanciulli, along with a full cast of indie, hip-hop and reggae artists. Prins Thomas is only one of two acts to be named so far for 2010, the other being Californian indie group Brian Jonestown Massacre. The rest of Playground Weekender's first-round line-up is set to be unveiled on November 6th.
