  • Bomb The Bass and Gui Boratto have come together to work on the former's new album. It's been just over a year since Tim Simenon returned as Bomb The Bass to release his Future Chaos album, but he's already got a new one finished. Just as Future Chaos was going into production, Simenon heard Boratto's remix of his "Black River" track, and decided to approach him for a full-length collaboration. "It was a very comfortable environment, very easy going," Simenon explains. "Gui's got a small studio in his house, and I had the basic sketches drawn up a few months beforehand, so we could just work together on one computer, bouncing ideas back and forth." Both the tropical environment and Gui's bright production style seem to have shaped the mood of the record, pitching clean melodies and grooves underneath vocal performances from Kelley Polar, occasional Swayzak collaborator Richard Davis and long-time Bomb The Bass affiliate Paul Conroy. Depeche Mode's Martin Gore even turns up on synths on final track "Milakia," with the recordings dating back to just after Simenon had produced the group's Ultra LP. "It's a track I've always loved, but could never find a home for, really," he says. "It seemed like a perfect closer for this particular album." Tracklist 01. Boy Girl feat. Paul Conboy 02. X Rays Eyes feat. Kelley Polar 03. The Infinites feat. Paul Conboy 04. Price On Your Head feat. Richard Davis 05. Blindspot feat. Paul Conboy 06. Start feat. Kelley Polar 07. Burn Less Brighter feat. Paul Conboy 08. Happy To Be Cold feat. Richard Davis 09. Up the Mountain feat. The Battle Of Land And Sea 10. Milakia feat. Martin Gore !K7 will release Bomb the Bass' Back to Light on March 1, 2010.
