  • San Francisco's latest after hours bash will be inaugurated this weekend at the newly renovated 222 Club. Effect is the brainchild of Chicago-born San Franciscan Jonathan Gavenda, who was taken aback by the authorities' decision to ban bar service between the hours of 2 AM and 6 AM. Many crews have decided to go underground and host illegal parties to carry the music on past the 2 AM alcohol curfew, but the San Francisco Police Department have recently been cracking down, confiscating laptops, sound systems and DJ equipment as they carry out their operations. In order to circumvent this legislation without getting on the wrong side of the law, Gavenda has decided to start a new party that kicks off just as alcohol can legally be served again, enabling the music to flow without being interrupted by the venue turning on the house lights, or the party being stormed by police. Gavenda will also be making the most of 222 Club's new Turbo sound system and Allen & Heath Xone V6 mixer on every third Sunday of the month, but don't expect to hear who'll be playing in advance, as Jonathan has made it clear that revellers will have to turn up to the venue on the day to see who'll be behind the decks.
