  • Scott Grooves will venture across the Atlantic for a rare set of European shows later this month. Although he has had a long and prolific career as a producer—including work with the likes of Roy Ayers—Grooves hasn't really had the opportunity to tour Europe extensively like some of his Detroit peers, having only made his debut German performance last March. What with his recent Journey into the Riddum and Does Not Compute mixes (which feature his original material exclusively) and singles on his own Natural MIDI and Modified Suede imprints, though, he's won quite a few new converts. European fans wanting to check him out, however, will have to make the journey to either Germany or Switzerland. Grooves' tour kicks off this Friday at Frankfurt's notorious Robert Johnson club, where he'll headline one of Ata's Playhouse parties alongside Heiko M/S/O before heading to Zurich's Zunkunft the following evening to play alongside recent Third Ear signing Demetrio Giannice. Munich and Berlin will be Scott's destinations next weekend, with Dario Zenker joining him at Rote Sonne on the Friday, while good friend and fellow Detroit resident Patrice Scott will join him at Watergate on the Saturday.
