- DJ Harvey and Traxx will headline the Market Hotel this month, while Floating Points and Azari & III will make their NYC debuts in February.
- Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter's series of loft parties are set to continue well into 2010. After a long run at Soho's Santos Party House at the start of last year, Harkin and Carter decided to shift their Mister Saturday Night bash to Todd P's Market Hotel loft space in Brooklyn and they haven't looked back since. Having already hosted Dixon, Omar-S, Moodymann, John Tejada, Scott Grooves, The Revenge and Ewan Pearson at the venue, they're looking to continue their impressive booking policy in January with two highly experienced spinners. DJ Harvey will bring his box of disco and Balearic treats to this Saturday's event, while Chicago house and the music that inspired the genre will be the focus when Traxx gets behind the decks the following weekend. The deeper side of Chicago house will also get an airing on February 27th when Larry Heard returns to New York for his second Mister Saturday Night performance, but arguably the most exciting date on their calendar is the debut NY performances of both Floating Points and Azari & III. The former has made his mark on both the house and bass music scenes in the space of just a year, with his "Love Me Like This" coming in at #19 in our tracks of 2009 poll. He's also been impressing with his DJ sets back in England, mixing up disco, house, hip-hop, UK garage and all sorts of other curveballs, so expect the unexpected when he takes the stage on February 13th. Azari & III are another '09 sensation, what with their "Hungry For The Power" and "Reckless For Your Love" tracks, and they'll be bringing their sturdy melodic house sound to the Market Hotel with a full live show.
