Plastikman and The Chems confirmed for Sonar 2010

- Hot Chip and Flying Lotus will join LCD Soundsystem and Air as the first acts announced for the festival in Barcelona.
- The first wave of performers has been announced for the 17th annual Sonar Festival, scheduled to take place this year from June 17th to 19th in the Spanish cities of Barcelona and A Coruna simultaneously. The festival will feature big name acts like The Chemical Brothers, LCD Soundsystem, Dizzee Rascal and Air, who will showcase material from this year's Love 2 album. Flying Lotus continues his meteoric rise with two separate performances at the Spanish festival, and Richie Hawtin will drop in for another stop on the Plastikman world tour. Indie-electro favourites Hot Chip will also make an appearance, while Sigur Ros front-man Jonsi will offer up his slightly poppier solo act. And experimentalist extraordinaire Matthew Herbert will appear as Matthew Herbert's One Club -- a mysterious new live act related to his forthcoming One trilogy. Dozens more pop and electronic acts will perform over the course of the weekend. Sonar's two main venues will present typically eclectic lineups, featuring the likes of Zomby, John Talabot, Hudson Mohawke and old school rappers The Sugar Hill Gang, as well as Fuck Buttons, Aeroplane, Sandwell District and Belgian party favorites 2 Many DJs. Mary Anne Hobbs will once again host her bass-heavy portion of the evening, featuring herself, Joy Orbison, Roska and Flying Lotus. This year's event will also feature an interesting twist: a second festival occurring simultaneously in A Coruna. Many of the same artists will perform -- namely Air, LCD Soundsystem, Laurent Garnier, Hot Chip, Matthew Herbert and Flying Lotus -- plus acts like Octa Push, DJ Mehdi and Riton. This shadow festival will also feature a number of local Galician performers, like Mweslee, BFlecha, 6pm, Fluzo, Ino, Grobas, Cora Novoa and more.
