  • West Coast beatsmith Dam-Funk is set to tour Australia for the first time, touching down for a series of shows across the country next month. Dam-Funk, known to his mother as Damon Riddick, has only been releasing his disco/hip-hop/boogie hybrid commercially since 2008. Last year saw two years' worth of production accumulated on his Stones Throw-released double album Toeachizown. Since then, Riddick has remained busy, winning over the Optimo duo, impressing London crowds, and getting picked to headline Croatia's Soundwave festival. The Los Angeles native's live performances are said to resemble something of a one-man band, with keyboards, turntables and vocals all featuring. Riddick will kick off his Australian tour with a date in Perth on May 7th, then head east for shows in Adelaide and Melbourne and Sydney.
