Aphex Twin announces summer DJ dates

- The forefather of IDM will play five gigs in Europe this summer.
- Electronic music pioneer Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin, has announced a brief string of DJ gigs across Europe this summer. The jaunt begins next month in France, with a show at the Centre Pompidou in Metz, where James will deliver an "advanced laptop DJ set" alongside ethereal glitch duo The Books. From there, he'll hit a slew of festivals, including Kilbi in Switzerlend, Rockness in Scotland and the LED Festival in London. The mini-tour concludes with a date in Ibiza at We Love... Space--a slightly odd match for Aphex Twin, but perhaps his skittering beats will refresh amongst the somewhat sunnier house and techno numbers.
