- Following a change in band name, the trio return with a new full-length.
PVT, the electronic rock trio formerly known as Pivot, will release second album, Church With No Magic, this summer on Warp Records.
In the time since their last release, the group was forced to change their name due to a lawsuit from another band called Pivot. "It was frustrating and kind of ridiculous, but it became quickly obvious that it was a legal battle in the US we may not even win, and one we just couldn't afford to lose," says band member Richard Pike. "So in the end, we weren't fazed by it."
Church With No Magic shows the group further developing their multi-instrumental, electronically enhanced rock sound, but this time with more prominent vocals in the mix, mostly from Pike. The album was recorded over the past two years in a variety of locations, including spots in Sydney, London and Paris.
