- Starting next week, the classic imprint will release a new mp3 package each month.
Next week, UK-based label Peacefrog will kick off a series of mp3 compilations, with one new collection released each month via Beatport.
Since the early 1990s, Peacefrog has been a leading source of influential house and techno, releasing albums and 12-inches by artists like Daniel Bell, Moodymann, Herbert, Plaid and Joey Beltran, to name just a few. The digital compilation series, entitled Aptitude for Experiment, will look back on Peacefrog's vast catalog in chronological order, beginning in 1991. Many of the tracks included have not been available digitally until now.
Details for most of the series are still forthcoming, but Peacefrog has revealed the tracklists for the first two installments, both of which will see release this month. Vol.1 chronicles the period between 1991 and 1993, and features tracks by Luke Slater, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, Juan Atkins as Infiniti and Dan Curtin as Apogee. Vol.2 will focus exclusively on 1994, and boasts tracks by Jack Tronic, Purveyors of Fine Funk and DBX's eternal "Losing Control," in its original form and remixed by Richie Hawtin.
