- The first wave of names has been announced for this year's Kazantip festival in the Ukraine, with Carl Cox and Ricardo Villalobos leading the charge. Taking place along the shores of the Black Sea, Kazantip is truly a extraordinary event that attempts to blur the line between music festival and autonomous republic; it has, for instance, a president, and festival-goers are referred to as citizens. It was once described by Sven Väth as being like "a Mad Max movie, but much more colourful and friendly." This year's festival site boasts six dance floors, 30 bars and thousands of "creative freaky people who are tired of normal ordinary life." More than 100 DJs will perform over the festival's three-week duration, on the main stages and at parties hosted by Cocoon, Get Phyiscal, Global Underground, Freak n' Chic and Poker Flat among others. Highlights include M.A.N.D.Y., Loco Dice, Josh Wink, the [a:rpia:r] crew, Marco Carola, Lee Jones, Agoria, Dyed Soundorom, and many more.
