  • Essex-based duo The Count and Sinden are set to release their debut album, Mega Mega Mega, later this summer on Domino Records. 2010 has been a busy year so far for the two artists: In addition to starting a new party in East London, Sinden released a 12-inch with SBTRKT and founded his own label, Grizzly, while The Count mixed a double-disc compilation called Ghetto Bass 2 as Herve. Though Mega Mega Mega is the pair's first album, they've worked together plenty of times in the past, perhaps most memorably on the 2008 bassline hit Beeper. Much like their previous 12-inches, the new record presents a ravey blend of grime, electro, baile-funk, dubstep and whatever else the duo deem necessary to make a party move. "Everything is in there, but it's all twisted," says Sinden, "we couldn't do it any other way." A number of guests appear on the album, including grime artist Bashy, American rapper Trackademics, indie outfit Mystery Jets and M.I.A.-approved artist Rye Rye. Though most of the tracks are previously unreleased, the duo also included a few of their tried and tested singles, such as "Hardocre Girls," "Elephant 1234" and, naturally, "Mega." To help tide you over until the official release date, Domino Records have put a free preview mix of Mega Mega Mega up on their website, which you can have in exchange for nothing more than your email address.
