  • The lineup has been announced for the tenth annual Labyrinth festival, scheduled for this September in Japan. As in previous years, the bill presents a concise selection of ultra-deep techno, with bits of house and dubstep thrown in for good measure. Festival staples Donato Dozzy and Peter Van Hoesen will DJ, joined by Function and Berghain / Panorama Bar residents Marcel Fengler and Steffi, the latter of whom will be making her Japanese debut. Van Hoesen is set to play live as well, along with Convextion, A Guy Called Gerald, Shackleton and Reagenz, AKA Move D & Jonah Sharp. Local jocks Hiyoshi and DJ So are also set to man the decks, and Hotflush boss Scuba will spin versus himself as SCB. As the festival's website rightly points out, nature and Funktion 1 play headlining roles in Labyrinth as well. Set on a campsite in the mountains of Niigata, the festival is known for its serene atmosphere and exceptional sound, delivered through monolithic Funktion 1 rigs. Anyone keen to make the pilgrimage should act fast, as Labyrinth has been known to sell out.
