  • Sonar has announced details for their upcoming events in Chicago, set to take place across three days in September. The acts confirmed so far follow the Barcelona-based festival's focus on forward-thinking electronic music. IDM innovator Oval is set to headline, along with Dutch dubstepper Martyn and Iceland-based noisemaker Ben Frost. As for North American acts, turntable artist Kid Koala will appear with his new group, The Slew, and Los Angeles beatsmith Nosaj Thing will deliver his visually enhanced live show, which also featured at this summer's festival in Spain. As usual, Sonar will showcase some Catalan talent as well, with artists like Bradien, bRUNA, Huan and Faraon. Sonar Chicago will consist of more than thirty events at various venues around the city. Proceedings will kick off at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, then take over the Chicago Cultural Center for the rest of the weekend. The festival will mark Sonar's second excursion to the US, following last year's events in New York and Washington DC.
