  • Belgian nightclub Cafe Capital has been completely destroyed in a fire. According to reports, the blaze broke out on Thursday morning due to as yet unnamed causes. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they had difficulty accessing enough water to get the fire under control, and by the time they had resolved this issue the club was already badly burned. Cafe Capital shares a building with De Groendienst, a landscape grooming service, but this portion of the building was not as thoroughly damaged. Two people were at work inside De Groendienst, but both made it out in time. No injuries have been reported. In its years of operation, Cafe Capital was one of Antwerp's most popular nightclubs. Idyllically located in the city's Stadspark, it played host to dozens of acclaimed DJs and electronic performs, including the likes of Robert Hood, Luciano, Marcel Dettmann, Four Tet and Theo Parrish to name just a few. Details on the incident are still scarce, but will be posted here as they become available.
